This trip provides an inspiring opportunity for professional practice at the iconic global Bologna Book Fair, and for reportage, being in the beautiful city of Bologna.
The Book Fair, running from April 5th – 8th April, is the leading global event for children’s publishing, which also encompasses graphic novels, comics, and a range of evolving multi-media platforms. It is the premier hub for publishers to find new talent, and for creatives to discover global trends in illustration and in children's books.
The trip offers you the opportunity to: promote your work via portfolio/book reviews and ‘The Illustrator’s Wall’; gain insight into publishing, via 100s of curated events, lectures and workshops; gain insight into the diversity of publishing globally by viewing 1000s of publishers stands and a range of illustration exhibitions; develop a personal database of publishers for future promotion; and network with other creatives and publishers.
Your deposit is non-refundable (other than in the event that the university has to cancel the trip) and commits you to paying the balance expected to be between £790 and £850 by midday on Monday 5 October 2026.
