Creative, inclusive and fun short courses for teenagers aged 14 – 17. Based on our University campuses and taught by our experienced staff, come and experience what it’s like to study at Falmouth.  

These short courses are suitable for all levels and will give you a chance to access our professional-standard facilities and broaden your skills through interactive workshops. Courses include food and drink, and you will learn in a safe and supportive environment with helpful feedback from course tutors You will leave with a certificate of completion, and the work you have created to build your portfolio for continued study.

This course runs from Wednesday 29th - Thursday 30th July 2026 from 9am until 4pm each day on our Penryn Campus.

Get behind the camera for this hands-on introduction to the fundamentals of filmmaking, including camera operation and lighting, editing and mixing in a specialist facility.

Designed for 14–17-year-olds with a passion for film, this two-day course will offer industry insights and introduce you to essential skills for selected key roles in the screen industries.

Through practical workshops in our professional-standard facilities at the School of Film and Television, you'll gain an introductory understanding of filmmaking, cinematography, sound, and visual postproduction.

Introduction to Game Development 2026

This course runs from Monday 27th - Tuesday 28th July 2026 from 9am until 4pm each day on our Penryn Campus.

Get hands-on with game development in this two-day course designed for technical and creative 14–17-year-olds. Based in our Games Academy and led by expert tutors, you’ll dive into the fundamentals of game production and gain valuable experience to strengthen your skills for future study.

Throughout the days you'll explore how games are made, from the production process to the key roles in a development team. You’ll experiment with the Unity Game Engine, building essential skills in asset creation, level design, and scripting as you create a playable demo.

Supported by our experienced Games Academy staff, you’ll gain insight into the commercial games market and discover where your own skills and interests might fit within this dynamic industry.
