Make a plywood puppet

Make a plywood puppet

£395.00

Description

Starting with an introduction to puppetry and an exploration of puppet design principles, you’ll learn techniques to craft a puppet, alongside safe techniques for handling of tools.

Using laminated plywood blanks and a variety of tools in our fantastic wood workshop on our Falmouth campus, and working in a small group under close supervision, you will learn to work with wood to create a figure, rough out its shape, and then add design and detail.

We’ll then move on to creating movement, using wooden and/or leather hinges. Finally, you will finish your unique wooden puppet with gesso and paint layering techniques. You’ll take your completed puppet away with you at the end of the course.
Suitable for all creative people 18+ with no prior experience required!

Creative Mask Making

Creative Mask Making

£225.00

Description

Join us for a fascinating introduction to the world of custom mask-making, expected to be of interest to those interested in theatre, costume, and cosplay.

Over the course of the day, you will learn to design, sculpt and form a detailed mask made from thermo-formed materials such as Worbla and foams that fits your face perfectly.

Worbla is a zero-waste, non-toxic thermoplastic often used in cosplay and sculpture, and allows people with limited 3D making skills an entry point to creative physical making.
Based in our 3d casting and mouldmaking workshop, you’ll learn via a series of hands-on practical workshops where we will teach you all the practical skills required, then there will be time to develop your creative ideas as we add detail to your mask.

You’ll take your unique custom mask home with you at the end of the day.
