Working with a life model in the studio each day, this is an ideal introductory course for beginners to sculpture and is also suitable for more experienced artists who wish to broaden their anatomical and sculptural knowledge.

Based in a 3d metalworking workshop on our Falmouth campus, you’ll go from complete beginner with a creative idea to finishing your first working automata, using copper and a variety of other materials, taught by Esther Smith.

By the end of the second day everyone will have created their own working automata that they can take home to continue working on or enjoy as a finished piece.

Suitable for everyone 18+ with no prior experience required.

This is a 2-day Bookbinding for improvers course led by renowned master bookbinder Tom O’Reilly at Falmouth University.

This course runs over two full days at our Penryn Campus on Saturday 11th April and Saturday 18th April 2026. It is suitable for all levels but we recommend that you have done our 1-day introductory course first. Over the two days, Tom will guide students through various aspects of hand book binding incorporating gold foil embossing and slip case making. Students will produce small hand-bound notebook and slip case.

This is a 6 week evening Bookbinding for improvers course led by renowned master bookbinder Tom O’Reilly at Falmouth University.

This course runs over six evenings at our Penryn Campus on from 22nd July - 26th August. It is suitable for all levels but we recommend that you have done our 1-day introductory course first. Over the two days, Tom will guide students through various aspects of hand book binding incorporating gold foil embossing and slip case making. We’ll send out information prior to the start of the course with enough time for you to review it and come up with an idea that you’d like to make.
