IFY London trip 2025 - DEPOSIT

Description

This non-refundable deposit of £150 is one of two steps required to reserve your place on the IFY study trip to London, 7-11 April 2025.

Please read all of the below for information about securing your place and for indicative itinerary for the trip.

 

Detailed Description

Deposit payment is due on or before midday on Monday 11 November. 

 

You will also need to complete the Registration Form at the link provided to you separately, by the same deadline.

 

To then secure your place, you will need to have completed the above two steps and, in addition, have made a balance payment (a separate product in this online store) no later than midday on Monday 13 January 2025

 

This study visit is only open to Year 0 students on the Integrated Foundation Year (IFY). If you are ineligible to attend this study visit, payment of this deposit will not reserve you a place on the visit, and therefore your payment will be refunded.

 

The trip is subject to a minimum take-up of 30, and with places limited to 46. 

 

Please note that the trip requires the following payments to be made: 

  • Non-refundable deposit of £150 due by midday Monday 11 November 2024
  • Balance payment of between £195 and £245 by midday on Monday 13 January 2025 (exact cost to be advised after the deposit deadline, when exact traveller numbers are known).

 

Your combined deposit and balance payments will include:

  •  Return coach travel between Falmouth and London hotel
  •  4 nights accommodation, with breakfast, in Central London
  •  Warner Bros. Studio and Making of Harry Potter Tour admission
  •  Group travel insurance

 

Not included - you will need to budget for this separately:

  •  All meals and snacks other than breakfast
  •  Any other admission costs
  •  London tube / bus travel costs

 

For your safety and security, we use a tour company who provide us with 24 hour support and protection whilst in London, and this is included in the price of your trip. 

 

 

THE TRIP

 

This is a chance for you to experience a residential educational trip to London, allowing for a terrific range of primary research opportunities - galleries, exhibitions, events and museum visits - in support of the final IFY 2024-25 module.

 

Indicative Itinerary:

(nb: where tube/bus travel is indicated, you will need to purchase your travel pass for the week independently)

 

Monday 7 April – Travel as a group by coach from Falmouth to our London hotel. Get settled - walk and get bearings.

 

Tuesday 8 April - Tube/Bus Travel - Day of Museums and Galleries. Possibility of Tate Modern and/or Southbank/Bermondsey. Other spaces which we may visit together or in groups include White Cube Gallery, Borough Market, Fashion and Textile Museum, The Old Operating Theatre Museum - all in easy walking distance of each other.

 

Wednesday 9 April - Full Group Day Trip – Tube/bus to Watford Junction for our shuttle bus to Leavesden Warner Brothers Studio Tour: 'The Making of Harry Potter' Studio Tour - to study and draw/photo/film the many concept artworks, props, costumes, sets, prosthetics and marketing materials for the making of the Harry Potter films. This is a terrific research, drawing and photography opportunity for all IFY Pathway streams. (*Cost of shuttle bus and Warner Bros. Admission and tour included in your trip price).

 

Thursday 10 April - Tube/Bus Travel - Day in South Kensington – Possible visits to the V&A, The Science Museum and/or Natural History Museum. Admission to these museums is free. Also easy access to the Serpentine Gallery in nearby Hyde park.

 

Friday 11 April - Independent research time during the morning. Time will be stipulated for students to meet for return coach to Falmouth, arriving back late in the evening and dropping off at both campuses.

Your deposit is non-refundable and commits you to paying the balance of between £195 and £245 (to be advised after deposit payment deadline) before midday on Monday 13 January 2025.
