Description
Based in our fantastic 3d metalworking working on our Falmouth campus, you’ll go from complete beginner with a creative idea to finishing your first working automata, using copper and a variety of other materials.
After an introduction to the history of automata, a look at the basic mechanisms involved, and guidance on techniques, you’ll be supported to experiment with and explore how the materials can be combined with movement, using a variety of mechanisms, to tell a story and enact short narratives.
By the end of the second day everyone will have created their own working automata that they can take home to continue working on or enjoy as a finished piece.
Suitable for everyone 18+ with no prior experience required.
