As part of the digital skills bootcamp, this one day course is designed to give you an insight into some of the creative concepts and fundamentals of Adobe InDesign and is aimed at those who have no or little experience with this powerful layout software. With hands-on practice, our trainers will take you from knowing nothing or just a little, to a level where you can confidently start creating brochures, newsletters, posters and flyers.

What you'll learn

  • How to navigate the workspace successfully
  • Create basic documents
  • Work with type - discover the fundamentals of typography
  • Place images on a page and use various resizing and fitting options
  • Explore different ways to introduce colour into documents
  • Export your artwork to various different formats 

Digital Badge
You will automatically, become eligible to claim a digital badge once you have demonstrated capability according to specific criteria established for the badge. This badge can be shared with future employers, on linkedin and many other digital platforms. click this link to find out more

Entry requirements 

There are no entry requirements for this course and previous experience is not necessary, however, you should be confident in the use of IT generally. 

Adobe Licence access
If you wish to use your own machine for the course you will need to purchase an Adobe licence. All Falmouth students are able to purchase a personal Adobe licence with Falmouth University at a discounted price of £67.47 for the academic year.  Please find full details on Adobe licences and links to purchase on this page

Cancellations policy 

If you are no longer able to attend your course, you are required to inform us as soon as possible so that your place can be allocated to another student. 

Please be aware that course places are not transferable between people or courses. 

Cancellations must be done a minimum of 3 working days prior to the start of the course in order to qualify for a refund. If a cancellation is made after this time, then you will still be charged the full cost of the course and we will not be able to issue a refund.
