This link is for student who have paid a deposit to make the final balance payment for their place on the School of Film & Television trip to the Berlinale 2023, Germany, 19-24 February 2023.

 

Detailed Description

This balance payment is due by midday on Friday 9 December 2022.

Your payment will include the following:

  • 4 nights hostel accommodation in shared rooms, on a bed and breakfast basis
  • Return flights from the UK to Germany
  • Coach transfers to and from airports in the UK and in Germany,
  • A half-day guided coach tour of Berlin
  • One piece of hold luggage each way
  • Group Travel Insurance

 Not included – you will need to additionally budget for:

  • All other meals
  • Tickets to screenings at the Berlinale
  • Travel Insurance to cover any conditions excluded by the Studylink Group Travel Insurance policy
  • Any public transport whilst in Berlin
  • Travel visas – you will need to check your government website for advice on travelling to Germany, and make any necessary visa arrangements.
  • Any Covid-19 tests or status documents required by the destination country or UK government prior to or on return, based on government policies at the time of travel.
  • Passport – British Passport holders are advised by our tour operator that their passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the return date to the UK. For this trip, that means the passport will need to be valid until at least 23 August 2023.

You will have given your passport details when paying the deposit, please email [email protected] if any of those details have changed.

 

Any payment for a study visit made by or on behalf of an enrolled Falmouth University student is subject to the following terms and conditions in relation to the student.

Terms and conditions

  • YOUR DATA: The personal data you provide when making payments for study visits is for use by Falmouth University to book your study visit and to ensure your safety whilst travelling as part of an organised university study visit. It will be used solely for these purposes, and may be shared with: Falmouth University staff organising the visit; Falmouth University staff responsible for your health and safety during the visit; external travel providers involved in organising the visit for the university; airlines or travel providers where applicable; accommodation providers; any other party deemed necessary by Falmouth University, specific to a particular study visit. No more detail will be shared than is necessary for each of these categories. The personal data you provide when making study visit payments will not be held by the School of Film & Television for longer than 2 months after your return date.   • Where this product is purchased by another individual on behalf of the traveller, it is the responsibility of the traveller to ensure that the personal information given about them – including passport details and medical and special needs requirements – is accurate. We recommend that those purchasing on behalf of a traveller, forward to the traveller the email sale notification that they will receive following purchase, as it contains a summary of all questionnaire answers given.
  • If your study visit requires flights or non-UK travel, then during the online payment process (for deposits and for balances), full traveller and passport details will be collected. This will be used to book travel, so please ensure all details are accurately entered. If they do not match the passport at the time of travelling, travel may not be permitted. If a subsequent correction of your details is later required, you are likely to incur a charge made by the tour operator. Passports must be valid for travel up to and including the return date, and depending on the destination, for between 3 and 6 months following the date you are due to leave your destination.
  • You are responsible for ensuring your passport is valid for travel to and from your destination for the dates of the trip. You should check any advice for travellers for the country you are visiting, from the country in which you are a national. You are responsible for any visas required for you to undertake this visit - you will need to check your government website for the requirements for travelling to this country, and make any necessary visa arrangements.
  • Falmouth University reserves the right not to run any study visit. If you are making this payment but are not the traveller, please note that in the event of a refund needing to be issued for any aspect of a study visit, the refund will be made to the card used to make the payment. If this is not possible due to card expiry then, for security reasons, the refund will be paid by Falmouth University directly to the student whose place it concerns. 
  • Any queries about this study visit must be made by the student directly to the organising course tutor, regardless of who is making the payment for their trip attendance. We regret that Falmouth University is unable to enter into conversation about the details of a study visit or discuss the details of participating students with parents or any other third parties, for reasons of security and data protection, regardless of who has paid for the student’s place on the study visit.
  • Travellers agree to read all insurance and other information provided to them by Falmouth University in relation to this study visit.
  • Payment of a non-refundable deposit by or on behalf of a student constitutes your agreement to pay the balance for the study visit by the deadline stated. If you fail to do so, your place on the study visit will be cancelled, you will forfeit the non-refundable deposit you have paid, and your outstanding balance will be treated as a debt; you may also be subject to cancellation penalties. Students in debt to the university are not eligible to enrol onto the next level of their course, or to graduate.
  • By booking on to this study visit, you agree to conduct yourself in a reasonable and orderly manner, with due regard to other people, their property and the reputation of Falmouth University. You agree to comply with the instructions of the Visit Organiser (the lead academic on your study visit) and all other academic staff travelling with you.
  • The details you provide will be retained for the duration of the study visit for health and safety reasons.

 

Photographs of the study visit may be used by the university for marketing and promotional purposes.
