It has been 80 years since the release of Hitchcock's REBECCA which remains one of his most popular films. Despite having been produced in the States, it's a quintessentially British tale crafted by Daphne du Maurier in the setting we will mark this event.

Falmouth University will host a two-day conference covering a of range topics as diverse as Franz Waxman's music, early Television adaptations, the way in which the landscape of the novel was realised for Hollywood, contemporary critical response as well as reassessing and reviewing some of the more central issues of Gender and Sexuality that have drawn considerable scholarly attention for this film over the succeeding years since its release. 

Delegates confirmed to attend and present including film studies luminaries such as Laura Mulvey, Helen Hanson, Janet Bergstrom and others.
